Social Work Careers
Social workers at Yale-New Haven Hospital specialize in a wide range of services. As key members of our interdisciplinary patient care team, our staff offer emotional and psychosocial support to both adult and pediatric patients and their families dealing with the challenges of illness, hospitalization or other difficulties. They also facilitate an extensive assortment of support groups for patients and their families. As a part of the Yale-New Haven Hospital team, social workers enjoy the opportunity to play an active role in a wide range of inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, including Medical/Surgical, Pediatric, Psychiatric, Adult and Pediatric Emergency specialty units, and clinics. Our team represents professionals at all levels of expertise, from non-licensed to licensed professionals. Every social worker at Yale-New Haven Hospital enjoys exceptional opportunities for certified continued education, competency training, and mentoring and licensure supervision. We are also proud to offer the first Social Work Clinical Advancement Program (SWCAP) in the state of Connecticut.
