- Pediatric Emergency Services
Open 24/7, our pediatric ED treats more than 15,000 children each year in a friendly, efficient and comforting atmosphere. Treatment is overseen by pediatricians with specialized pediatric emergency medicine training, and certified child life specialists are available to provide support for children and their families during difficult procedures.
- Pediatric Surgery Center
Incorporating 4 operating rooms, a special treatment room and an exclusive pediatric PACU, the pediatric surgery center provides a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services to both inpatients and outpatients.
- Child Life Program
Our dedicated team of child life specialists help to facilitate the emotional and social growth of a child during the crisis of illness.
- Pediatric ICU
Our 11-bed Pediatric ICU provides expert one-on-one care for children recovering from catastrophic illness, trauma, cardiothoracic surgery and transplant operations.
- Newborn Special Care
In 1960, Yale-New Haven Hospital opened the world's first newborn special care unit. Now offering 46 beds, the NBSCU provides an unrivaled standard of care to more than 1,500 infants a year and regularly accepts transfers from other hospitals across Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island.
- Pediatric Specialty Center
A major referral center for outpatient pediatric specialty services, offering services in more than 20 specialty areas.
- Pediatric Diagnostic Imaging
Our extensive diagnostic imaging services for infants, children and adolescents includes radiography, fluoroscopy, Sonography, cardiac catheterization, radioisotope imaging and CT.
- Pediatric Respiratory Care Unit
An intermediate care unit devoted to meeting the unique needs of children with chronic respiratory failure. Our multidisciplinary team specializes in training families to care for their technology-dependent child, and in managing complicated discharges.
- Children's Psychiatric Inpatient Unit
The CPIS provides comprehensive psychiatric, psychosocial, educational evaluation and short-term treatment services to children ages 4-14 with neuropsychiatric, developmental and behavioral problems. In conjunction with the Yale Child Study Center, we also offer a child psychiatric partial hospital program.
- Pediatric Dentistry Center
The Pediatric Dentistry Center offers preventative, comprehensive and urgent dental care for children up to age 16, with a special emphasis on treatment of children with special dentistry needs. Our staff are also trained to treat children with severe disabilities.
- Pediatric Rehabilitation
A dynamic, interdisciplinary service dedicated to providing physical and occupational therapy addressing the physical, mental, cognitive and/or developmental disabilities of children.
